How the self-checkout process works has already been explained in the article Self-Checkout.
We have expanded the self-checkout to include:
- SEPA data can be entered by the donor him/herself.
- Donors can still think about it, and be further inspired and convinced by emails.
1. SEPA Data:
Instead of the payment method "SEPA / DD" you simply select "Self-Checkout (Journey)". The payment method is ONLY visible if either email and/or a mobile number has been entered.
The payment method itself can be freely renamed, i.e. it is not always called "Self Checkout".
Only The option "Sign on Supporter Device" is available at Checkout options, because the donor has to finish the donation (bank details) later him/herself before the donation can be signed.
Attention: The donation is only completed when the donor has actually confirmed. How this looks for the donor can be read here: Self-Checkout from the donor's point of view
2. E-Mail Journey:
The donor receives an email with a confirmation link, this email can be freely designed. At this point, the donation has not yet been completed and it is a pre-contractual relationship. Our system sends up to 6 further reminder emails to convince potential donors. You can tell success stories or convince the donor to donate in other ways. It is also possible to unsubscribe from these emails, i.e. if the potential donor is no longer interested.
This is our standard email - it's not very interesting to read and just here for visualization purposes.
