We’re improving the address search in our forms. In the UK, we already use Loqate, and we’re now rolling it out to all other countries as well. As part of this change, we’re replacing the previous Google address search with Loqate (more information: https://www.loqate.com/en-gb/address-capture/). This means addresses are found more reliably, validated, and stored correctly. It reduces input errors and helps ensure that datasets are processed smoothly.
What is the address search
When you start typing your address, the form suggests matching results and automatically fills in fields. In the background, the address is validated so it can be saved in a consistent, clean format.
What’s new
Loqate specializes in address data and typically provides more accurate results. This is especially helpful for:
• Better support for complex house numbers and additions
• Better suggestions across different countries, including country specific formats
• Clearer autocomplete suggestions focused on real addresses, without irrelevant results
What does this mean for you and your supporters
You don’t need to change anything. The address search will look a bit different going forward, but the overall flow stays essentially the same. Existing addresses remain unchanged, and new entries will be captured using the improved system. Overall, we expect fewer input errors and cleaner address data.
