Our App was built with the knowledge that during fundraising internet will not always be available. For that purpose we have several features that allow working offline.
This guide is designed to help you optimize your workflow when fundraising in environments with limited or no internet connection. By following these steps, you can ensure high data quality and minimize the risk of data loss.
Login in and Check-In (Internet required)
Before heading to an area with limited connectivity, you must ensure you are logged in and checked-in. This only needs to be done once.
Signing Up Supporters
Proceed with Supporter sign-ups as usual, keeping in mind the following limitations:
- Avoid Self Check-Out and Online Payments: Supporters aren't able to receive the Selfcheckout Link without the tablet having internet access.
- Welcome SMS and Welcome Email will not be sent: Keep in mind that without an internet connection your tablet will not be able to trigger Welcome SMS and Welcome Emails.
- Manual Address Entry: Since the automatic address filler is unavailable, ensure all address details are manually and accurately entered.
- Supporter saved offline: When you press the final upload button, a notification will appear confirming the sign up worked but the upload failed.
Data is stored locally
After the sign-up the supporter data is stored securely in your browser's local cache. Under "Offline Storage" an entry will be show indicating how many datasets are saved offline.
Please do not clear the cache if records have been saved offline.
Clearing the cache will result in permanent loss of all offline stored data.
Upload Donations (Internet required)
After regaining internet connection the data can be uploaded by pressing the "Upload all items" button. The data will be sent to our servers, the donation will be cleared from the browsers cache and the red button will disappear. After that you can check the Fundraiser Dashboard to see if the donation upload worked.
Best Practice: Uploading immediately after signing up (as soon as a connection is available) is key. It improves data quality and allows for faster error detection.
